Nero bloatware

Well after Nero 7 (whatever version I had), not working on Vista I decided to have a go at the newest trial version, (v7.8.5.0). After it said it was going to use over 1.6GB of space I decided to do a custom install and strip out all the shit. I don't want it to do anything with music files, pictures, songs, or any other kind of file except put them onto cd's. My custom install was for Nero Burning Rom (the original point of the software), Nero Recode and Nero Vision. Fair enough, I can spare the 600mb. Even if it made me install DirectX 9.0c before I was halfway through the installer.
Blah, blah, blah it installed. Upon restarting the computer I was greeted with Nero Scout, the spyware.
Apparently you don't have the option of not installing this. It puts a search bar down in my taskbar that lets me search all kinds of things... I don't want to search my photos, music, videos or any other kind of file with this crap. I don't want to search the internet with it either. I JUST WANTED TO BURN A #$^%ING CD!!

And stay the hell out of my emails! What on earth are they doing?

It's time to give another company a go. ANY OTHER COMPANY!
Surely every other piece of burning software isn't this malignant?
Any ideas?

I use Windows Media to burn stuff mainly- just not upgraded to version 10. Thought Roxio was rather clumsy, and haven't had any problems with making DVDs with Nero, but that's on my older computer which I have to plans to upgrade to Vista.
