Mazez patented out-of-office (set location) systems

Well. It's more of a concept right now so as such, not patented. And it's kind of stupid so I doubt it ever will be. I'll explain.
Originally I had a system where I would hang pre-written post-it notes stuck to paperclips on a magnet from a hard disk drive. This had some problems like the wind of people walking past would spin them around and stuff.

While it was amusing playing with it for a while it had too many problems to replace the fancy phone-based system that everyone else in the company used. Not to mention only distracting people's attention from my paperclip version of a skyhook.

On to the new and improved version! It's a lot more user friendly, easy to read (for those who aren't exactly spring chickens anymore), and with a little more work, it will have Outlook integration!

When I have a bit more spare time I'm going to add some little foil contacts connected to a usb micro controller that completes a circuit when the arrow is set to various positions and sets my status on the pc! Investors are welcome at this point. Send cash to my desk.

Only if you don't want money. On the off chance that this is somehow stupidly popular and famous and I make lots of money, I'll eat my hat.

Just do what i do, don't tell people where you are, otherwise they will just keep breaking things and running to you....

Well I don't tell them where I am. It is more of an idication of where I am not. It has changed now and actually has an arrow that points to "Slacking" almost all the time. Unfortunately I now have the Vision software for Outlook but this doesn't work for me. So I'm indefinitely set to "Home for the day".

Well so far no one even has my number. And people are under explicit orders to not bother me, set down by middle/upper management. So I have the power to tell them to bugger off.

Fair enough. What browser are you using KJ? Could be something significant in that.
