Bandwidth Splitter: UPDATE
In category Geebin on 02 Jun 2006 @ 03:53 pm
Just checking some things out about 24 hours after I installed this add-in for ISA server and I've just noticed that it only watches web traffic. This makes it ultimately useless when about a million applications are going to use more bandwidth than web traffic.
It seemed good to start with but is unfortunately useless.

You could always use iptables accounting to do this.... I've done it once at UQ while we were using iBurst...
It's not that difficult, provided you know a bit of nix =)

How typically Microsoft. How typically useless. They're great at designing easy to use stuff that appeals to the mass market--but why are they so useless at building anything else?
P.S. What terms and conditions am I accepting? You should make the "Terms and conditions" part a link to them.

I said I'd have to do that. I've been asked a dozen times now. I'm getting around to it.
The add-in isn't a Microsoft thing.
