The longest short-weekend ever!

Friday was exceptionally busy as everyone may have noticed from my earlier posts and my weekend was just as bad or worse as far as having too much to do goes. I was working Friday night so didn't have time to re-image my laptop so on Saturday morning at 6am I woke up and packed almost everything I owned into my car to go back to Pitts. Mum rang just before I left saying that I should just head home and we'd drive back into Toowoomba to go shopping.
I eventually arrived at Pittsworth about 10:30am and immediately had to start working on the list of things I had to do while I was there. I didn't get enough time to do any PC work so that's all going to have to wait until I'm back in a few weeks. Mum rang my sister to tell her where to meet us in Toowoomba so we could go clothes shopping so I have something good to wear to job interviews. We started in Myer which was apparently the right choice as they had a sale on business shirts and ties so we got a couple of each and a nice pair of pants. My current (and only pair) of shoes looked a bit out of place after that so we went to Mathers and bought a new pair of shoes. The total coming to just short of $300 but it's a worthwhile investment when trying to get a job.
As soon as I got back from shopping I had to drive into town to set up and start doing the music for a party so I took in my laptop and stereo and set up on some hay bales in the corner. It was a bit of a hoedown kind of event where I felt ridiculously out of place because I wasn't wearing a wide-brim country hat. Initially, no one would request songs other than "good country", which doesn't exist, so I played bad country until people got sick of it and started asking for real songs. So after the inital run of songs it was a classic rock kind of night where I caught up with a lot of people from high school. After midnight we were toasting marshmellows on an open fire until I decided to pack up and go home.
On sunday we had a big family roast lunch which was really good and I ate so much that I still don't feel hungry again this morning. After lunch I went for a walk around the farm to take some photos with Kate and a lot of them turned out quite good and I'm editing some now to put on my site (and deviant art). I have a couple of unedited ones available now, Barbed and Skylight. There will be more to come and I'll put links in my main journal for all you people who don't normally check the galleries. It was the perfect night to drive because everything was perfect. There was no moon so I could see the milky way out my car window and the air was cool and clean. In front of me there was a storm and some lightning to the East towards Ipswich and Brisbane and Billy Idol was on the stereo. It was an amazing experience.
