Case mod: LCD Side (Part 1)

After the plethora of how-to's out there telling you how to install 300 brightly coloured fans and flourescent bulbs or windows in your case, I'm considering writing my own to try and fit my 17" LCD into the side panel of my case..

There is a bit more to it than just cutting out the hole. The side panel of my computer currently looks like this:

As you can see there isn't a whole lot of space left with the fans and switches (currently removed for replacement) in the left side panel. The problem being that the right side panel has about an inch clearance from the backing plate that the motherboard is attached to. One option would be to cut a hole in the right side panel for the monitor to fit into as much as possible, but then hold the monitor on with a swinging arm type mount so that it may be positioned roughly where it is now (if desired). It seems like an interesting idea and if I draw up some plans I might go weld a frame together.

Well we wouldn't want to have to attach a fan so big t might break the motherboard :p
