It doesn't seem to take much does it? Here is why..
1. I couldn't find a way to resize hundreds of images with Windows XP
2. I couldn't find a SMALL program to do it for me.
3. I wrote a program in C#.NET to do it.
4. No one could run my program for some reason.
5. No one has .NET framework.
6. .NET framework is 20Mb (as opposed to the JRE 15.6Mb).
7. Small app is now a 21Mb download on a machine that already has JRE
8. JPG_Resizer needs to be re-written in Java to be of any use.
More info..
WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME!

But if it didnt have JRE and it ran on Java, then it would be 17 mb
What normal software developers would do is either provide the package, like you have plus an "you already have .net" version, some dont make the package, they just link to the site for it.
Hey i have .net and you have .net, hence 5 is an invalid statement.

I removed Visual Studio 2003 as it was a waste of space.
I wanted to use this program on other people's pc's when I was overseas. Not much good if I have to constantly download the .NET framework.

Are you serious? The only way you could approach this is to write a program in .net?
Firstly, for an image viewer with batch resize/modification capabilities, try out Irfanview (www.irfanview.com). Install it to a USB disk, and it will run without an install. Batch operations under File -> Batch (B)
You could write a quick batch file using the operators of jhead, jtrans, convert (out of imagemagik) but the Irfanview option is probably the easiest.

Irfanview comes with eBay ads and shit, that's just irritating, and I don't actually have a USB disk. Imagemagic is shit. I can't remember why I hate it but it's still installed on my server from a failed attempt to do something. Might check it out. Also I don't like you because everyone else says I shouldn't. Have a nice day.

Irfanview 3.95 had an opt-out ads for eBay. There was a whole screen dedicated to asking you in the installer, but I don't expect many people read it in the click-next race. It was a little 96x20 icon for eBay, and was removeable by unticking the box in options.
Irfanview 3.97 (current revision) makes the ad opt-in during installation, so you actually have to tick the box.
If you don't have a USB drive, hit this up: http://bilious.org/filez/irfanview.zip
Even over a 56k dial up it'll take only 2 minutes.

Suitably stolen from your site. I have cable internet here so not a problem. Why can I only get like 5kb/s off your site?

It's average at best Bilious. There is definitely much better out there. It's no better than the one I wrote in the afternoon. I figure something like ACDSee on a cd would be much better.

ACDSee is of course something you buy. If you want something to kick around on the web, for free etc this is pretty good.
(Also, remember, resmaple function for goodness)

I'm sure ACDSee is out there for free too. It has a trial period I think.

Have you tried the Free Windows XP Image Resizer (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx)?
This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image (100s too)files with a right-click. Doesn't require .NET or JRE to run and only 512KB.

I actually have that. It doesn't install on Server 2k3 so I've never seen it running. I must install it on another pc and copy the executable or something.
